FitBloggin’ 13 Day 2
Day 2 of FitBloggin’ started with a nice hot shower. I knew I was going to sweat in the morning, but a shower always makes me feel refreshed. Plus I really wanted to wear that robe!
After throwing on some workout clothes I had a big breakfast because I was so hungry! The spread was pretty good, but I stuck to things that were in my realm. No bacon, scrambled eggs, or pastries for this girl. I did have some WONDERFUL fresh granola that was offered. It was near the cereals and not a lot of people went for it. Their loss! It had a hint of brown sugary goodness and slivered almonds. Wish I could have taken it home (might have to try making my own).
After breakfast I took part in the most amazing workout of my life. The class was called IntenSati and the instructor, Patricia Moreno, was the most inspirational woman I’ve come across in a long time. The entire workout you are sweating your tail off doing all kinds of dance and kickboxing type exercises while saying motivational phrases out loud to music. The idea is to get rid of any negative energy that may bring down your workouts. Things like “I am powerful beyond measure” and “I AM enough”. I’ve never had a workout that was physically and emotionally intense like that before. I was brought to tears and I wasn’t alone. The things she said in the beginning really hit home. She talked about her experience with weight and letting go of that constant worry of going back to that place, and instead accepting the person you are now. After the workout I told her how amazing she was and she gave me a big hug.
After workout #1 I rehydrated and picked up a few more freebies (including the new Quest Bar that isn’t out yet)
It was GOOD (I scored two of the new exclusive flavor that weekend)
Then I met more people! You guys may recognize this gorgeous gal, Julie over at PBfingers. She is as bubbly and sweet as she looks! Very fun 🙂
Then we Zumba’d. This was my first time taking a Zumba class just because dance workouts aren’t really my thing. Julie quickly confessed she was in the same boat, so I felt good with her next to me! We did a pretty good job though 🙂 I’m blessed to have rhythm though even if I couldn’t follow 100% of the time. I have to admit it was REALLY fun and I didn’t care who was watching!
After a short break came a fitness apparel fashion show. Bloggers were walking the runway wearing the latest fitness gear. We all cheered on while these women strutted their stuff. It was so much fun.
They handed out pretty cool sweatbands too and I immediately rocked mine.
Then came lunch! The buffet was beautiful and so many options were offered. I decided to enjoy this lovely lunch and ditch the bags of cold chicken breast and sweet potato. This was my plate!
After a quick wardrobe change…
I went off to some really cool discussions. I sat in on “how to deal with your before when you reach your after” “clean eating” and some blog building/business workshops. A little bit of everything! The before and after discussion was pretty emotional. It was good to sit and support people that have similar stories and backgrounds. Everyone talked about the obstacles they overcame in life to get to their fit journey including 100+ pound weight loss, divorces, lonliness, and feelings of giving up. We also talked about our accomplishments and support systems, which was really cool.
One of the girls I really connected with was Kelly over at NoThanksToCake. We had a lot of similarities and she had such a fun personality.
The clean eating seminar I had problems keeping quiet! I wanted to chime in every 2 seconds, but I kept telling myself shut up Kate… let other people talk. A lot of people asked for my blog information so they could find my recipes and pages about clean eating. I was told later on I seemed very knowledgeable about the topic, which felt good! They could tell I was an experienced “clean eater”.
The last seminar of the day included some helpful tips on how to build your blog (stuff I won’t bore you guys with, no worries). After, I headed down the street for a quick dinner, a nice vegan wrap at Freshii. I’ve been to the one in DC before and it’s so wonderful! So Fresh and tasty 🙂
I ran back upstairs for a quick shower and outfit change for an evening of blogger presentations chosen by readers.
They were witty, fun, and wide in variety. Everything from technology blogs, to runners, to blog memes. The whole room was laughing while enjoying a delicious yogurt parfait!
I headed up a little early to my room because I was SO exhausted. Supposedly there was karaoke, but I had to skip out. It was such a busy day and I was still running on East Coast Time.
Tomorrow I’ll feature Day 3- It’s going to be “Jumpin’ ”

Hey Minnie,
I absolutely love your blog! I was googling clean eating recipes a couple of weeks ago since I wanted to enrich my diet. I am a german blogger and clean eater (most of the time) and I fell in love with your Katie Wrap instantly. Sooooo yummy! I just wanted to say thank you for your inspiring posts. Your dedication really impresses me! Your posts usually go online around 11am here and I made a little ritual out of reading it. I am getting myself a cup of coffee with soy milk and just enjoy both together.
Can’t wait to hear about day 3.

Hi Juli! The Katie Wrap was actually one of my very first recipes that happened by accident one night after the gym while I was cleaning out my cabinet! Yum Yum. So nice to hear I’ve become part of your daily routine. Love it 🙂
