A “Me Day”

Saturday Morning “ahhhhh” stretch, yawn, and stay put in that bed for a little while! Isn’t that the best? When you know you don’t have to jump right out of bed? Usually for me though, I have to. Phoebe jumps on my chest which is my clue meaning “mama I have to go potty”.
I started my day off yesterday with coffee and a new overnight oats recipe! Check out these Cake Batter Overnight Oats
These oats have around 260 calories and 22 grams of protein! Wow 🙂
Super yum and super filling! The top is a “frosting” made out of greek yogurt. And of course no cake is complete without sprinkles!
After breakfast I headed to a new hair salon to get my hair cut. The hair stylist who did it, Tiffany, goes to my gym and follows my blog. This was the first time I officially met her in person and she is adorable! She’s like a tattooed Barbie! Beautiful woman. And she did a beautiful job on my hair 🙂 I love being able to connect with people through my blog. I’ve met so many amazing people this way.
I think Phoebe likes it too!
After pulling myself away from my computer…
Phoebe and I headed to see G-Mama. Bella also came over and she brought Phoebe a new toy and me these pretty seashells from the beach! 🙂
After a nap on the couch (MUCH NEEDED), I went to the gym for shoulder day. This was really starting to turn into a “me day”. Felt good!
I started with 20 minutes on the spin bike and then off to lift I went:
- upright rows, 20 lb kettles each hand, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Front plate raise, 25 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Lateral straight arm raise, 8 lb kettles, 20 reps x 2 sets, then 10 lb kettles, 10 reps x 2 sets
- Shoulder shrugs, 40 lb dumbbells, 10-12 reps x 4 sets
- Car drivers, 10 lb plate 12 reps x 3 sets, then 25 lb plate 10 reps x 2 sets
- Shoulder circles, 8 lb kettles, 10 reps x 3 sets each direction
- Reverse shoulder press (almost like a lat pulldown), 50-60 lbs, 10 reps x 4 sets
- Diagonal shoulder raise (see pic below), 20 lbs 12 reps x 4 sets each side
I finished with 20 minutes on the elliptical/stair stepper combo machine. Wasn’t feeling the stair master for once! It’s good to switch things up anyway.
I picked up my girl and we drove back home. The weather has been really yucky these past few days. It rained all day 🙁
When I came home I was starving, so I made a quick chicken pizza wrap. Basically I just threw together pieces of chicken, pizza sauce, goat cheese, and a small babybel cheese in a wrap and devoured it.
Mommy spent the remainder of the night sucked into the big brother abyss, working on meal plans, and cleaning the kitchen up. I mentioned on here that Miss Buffay has been acting up since I’ve been so busy. I guess she isn’t getting the attention she wants, and she really showed me last night.
I don’t yell at her, that doesn’t do any good. I just picked it up, said no, and we went on with our lives. I did give her some play time later and snuggles 🙂
Phoebe has never done that with the toilet paper before. Not around me anyway. My mom later told me she did it twice at her house while I was gone…. Oh Phoebs.
Today I have more errands to do and some cleaning around the apartment. I think I will stay put for most of the day besides a gym session. I just love being home. I can’t help it! Call me a hermit, I don’t mind. I’d rather stay in and enjoy doing something that I like, than be forced to go out and feel socially awkward. Maybe it’s the introvert in me?
