A Weekend of Work
Yes HAPPY! I have a full day of work today, then tomorrow I’m there for Terrible Tuesday until about 2 o’clock until I dance out of there on my way to get ready for CALI-FOR-NIA!
I’m so excited to say it that way. I’ve never been to California before and while I won’t be doing much sight seeing because my schedule is crammed, it’s still super exciting because I’m doing WHAT I LOVE MOST! Working out, blogging, hanging with other people that have similar goals. My kind of vacation. Yesterday I even looked up a local Golds Gym and picked up a travelers pass at my gym to get in my lift while I’m there. It’s about 11 minutes from my hotel so I plan on catching a cab and getting it done! No excuses.
This weekend I hit the gym HARD. I’m so motivated now and I’m putting in the work it takes to get my body ready for show day. On Friday I did a little photo shoot by myself. Yes, I did my own hair, makeup, and even took the pictures myself! It was pretty difficult, but I am proud of the outcome. Here’s a few of them 🙂

Saturday included a long and intense morning workout of biceps, triceps, and cardio. We tried out a new exercise for biceps that I’ve done a variation of that I have posted on here before. Basically you use the seated row machine and a curl bar. Elbows go on knees and you extend the curl to the machine and curl back into your body. It’s a bit of a shorter range of motion, but it really gives you the pump! Try it out 😀
Saturday evening I went to an OCB show and it was exactly what I needed to get my motivation kicked into high gear. The second the bikini girls came out I felt the itch! I started thinking about how I’ll look in 10 weeks, what music I’ll choose, how my suit will fit me. I can’t wait! I sat with my posing coach Tina and we cheered on so many of our teammates. They definitely cleaned house as far as the awards went! It was so fun to watch.

Sunday was preparation day. After an awesome chest workout, I hit the grocery stores, prepped meals to take on my trip, did load after load of laundry, cleaned, and started to pack my suitcase. This time I’ll be without my fluffy better half for 5 whole days! I can’t even think about it… I miss her like crazy when I’m at work! I actually had to stop typing this to grab her and hug her fluffy self… ah Phoebs I’ll miss you so much! I always say “Mommy always comes back right?”. I know she knows!

Anyway, today Coach and I are busting out an epic leg day before I go away. Time to bring it! If you haven’t done legs in a few days, join me! We will push through the pain together. Remember each rep counts, and when you want to quit do an extra one. I’ll think of you guys and bang that extra one out! 😀
