DIY Dry Shampoo For Brunettes

Hi friends!

Today I’m sharing my favorite DIY Dry Shampoo for Brunettes. I used this a couple of years ago, and not sure why I ever stopped because it’s more natural than the ones you buy in the store. Plus, I can’t tell you how many times I wake Tony up in the morning spraying that can. Beddies, the dogs start sneezing when I get spray happy and I definitely do not like that.  And to top it off the smell of those products are not too pleasing or they can be too strong. Did I list enough reasons? Phew…

This is so easy and you can make a lot at once! I’ve been trying not to wash my hair every day because it seems like I lose a ton of it when I shower. This recipe gives the hair tons of volume and smells nice too 🙂

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 3 TBSP Corn starch
  • 3 TBSP Baking Soda
  • 3 TBSP Cocoa powder (or Cacao- what I used)
  • 2 TBSP Organic Saigon Cinnamon
  • Optional: 5-10 drops of essential oils.

For my blondes, skip the cinnamon and cocoa powder and add the essential oils. Or if you’re a dirty blonde add just the cinnamon! I skipped the oils because the cinnamon gives it a nice smell on its own.

The cornstarch will give your hair volume, while the baking soda keeps the hair clean 🙂

I put mine together in a cute little glass jar to last me quite some time. Give it a shake and a stir and you’re all done.

You can use a brush to apply, but I prefer the finger method. Plus, I think tossing the air around helps add even more volume!

Try it out, I think you’ll like it.

XOXO,

Katie
