DIY Eye Cream
Hi everyone!
Happy Friday to you 🙂
What have I been up to while I’ve been off work? Well besides torturing myself in candy stores…
Actually NOT MUCH. And frankly it’s already driving me crazy. Yesterday when I was finished the gym I asked my mom “why is this so much harder right now? I feel like I can’t get through the workouts”. She seems to think it’s because I have too much time all of a sudden. Everything was structured before and I was rushing to go to my next place (work, home, store, gym, wherever) so I didn’t have time to think. Now that’s all I have.
So while full-time blogger seems like a dream in my head, I’m not sure I could do it!
I’ve been doing little DIY projects here and there at night to keep busy. Things like making calendars and lists, re-organizing, and last night I even made my own eye cream. Hey I’m approaching the big 3-0 this year…
This eye cream came about thanks to my friends over at PopSugar Beauty. It’s two ingredients and things I had in my cabinet! Coconut oil and Vitamin E capsules. If you aren’t familiar with Vitamin E as far as beauty goes, it helps with aging and fights inflammation. I don’t take it for that reason (but hey I’ll take the extra benefit). I’ve been taking Vitamin E because it helps with physical endurance, increases energy, reduces muscle damage after exercise, and improves muscle strength.
This couldn’t be more simple, and it will last a super long time and save you some bucks.
Take 1/4 cup of coconut oil and place in a container. Melt in the microwave for about 20 seconds.
Poke a hole in 3 Vitamin E capsules, emptying the liquid into the coconut oil. Mix together
Cover and place in the fridge for less than an hour to have the cream firm up.
You do not need to keep this in the fridge after it sets! Just keep it with your other toiletries 🙂
They also suggested using a few drops of rose oil (it is a nice fragrance and also helps with inflammation). I obviously didn’t have any, so the two ingredients will do for now!
I put this on before I go to bed, but you can even put it on before applying makeup for the day. Long gone are the days where I leave the house with a face full of makeup. I wear nothing most days. A makeup day is a little mascara and a smidge of concealer. When I start my new job though I will be in a professional environment so pleasant face will be required. Now to perfect the simplistic makeup look 😉
More DIY projects to come soon!

Ooooh I love this!! I definitely want to give this a try since sometimes I just put some coconut oil under my eyes. Happy Friday 🙂

Yes I’ve been using it at night! I feel really smooth and refreshed in the AM.
