Friday and 33 weeks

Hi everyone!

Let me start off by saying I originally had plans to post a blog yesterday, but my body had other plans. I worked the 4th of July, and mid afternoon was hit with some pretty severe pain. Baby is fine! Thank goodness. That’s the most important part. I however have a kidney stone.

FUN!

A few of my friends at work and I always joke about this episode, and look at that, I’m blessed to have it myself.

I’m doing good though, and again I’m so happy baby girl is fine. We are just resting at home, taking it easy, drinking lots of water, and getting tons of puppy snuggles! The girls were being little angels yesterday and just laid with mama all day since I haven’t been feeling great.

Today I’m 33 weeks and I had SO many plans to finish up the nursery, start washing clothes, and organizing our spare bedroom. This threw a wrench in things, but if it’s not done by the time of baby girls arrival, then it won’t be the end of the world. Tony is going to help me this weekend, since we have a VERY special visitor who will be here this time next week!

My BFF Sarah is flying in from Seattle to stay with us for 4 days. She’s coming for our baby shower and I’m so over the moon excited! We see each other once a year usually, but it never really feels like it’s been that long since there is social media. Sarah was one of my bridesmaids and spent time with us last September for the wedding. I’ve missed her so much and can’t wait to have her here for such a special day to celebrate baby girl.

In the baby’s room, we have the walls painted, the furniture assembled, curtains hanging, and a few shelves all set up waiting for her arrival. I would love to share what the room looks like now, but I’m waiting until it’s completely done. I do walk in there from time to time (and I mean every day), shed a little tear, and think about all the good that is about to come our way.

We haven’t bought a ton of baby things yet, like any first time mom I’m super eager to run out and buy everything, but we are waiting till after our shower. Here’s a sneak peek into my wishlist!

The mamaroo! I’ve heard excellent things about this little swing. It does it all. Bounces up, down, sways from side to side, goes in little circular motions. I played with it in Buy Buy Baby and it’s supposed to be a subtle swing that mimics baby in the womb. Friends had said their infants loved it.

My breast friend pillow. This is a deluxe nursing pillow similar to the Boppy (I registered for that one too), but it has a Velcro strap that you can wear around your waist, while keeping better posture and your arms elevated some. I’m really hoping I’m going to be able to breastfeed our little one because there are SO MANY BENEFITS to breast milk. Everyone keeps telling me if it doesn’t work out that I shouldn’t beat myself up about it, but I will try my hardest to succeed.

The Halo bassinet. I heard about this one before I was even pregnant. It swivels onto the bed to make co- sleeping safer than in the bed. It also has music and vibration for baby. Right now the dogs sleep in the bed with us, and I really don’t intend on that changing. (Laugh at the new mom here). I really hope we can all learn to get along in our own space. Fingers crossed!Hooded bath towels. I put a bunch of these on my registry. Not only are they adorable, but I’ve been told they are super convenient and cozy for bath time. Who doesn’t love a cute little baby wrapped in a towel?

Speaking of bath time, Burt’s Bees Baby products for the bath! I wanted something a little more natural to put on baby girls skin. I did research when I first got pregnant, and decided on this brand. It’s a little pricier than some of the other baby products out there, but a little goes a long way!

Itzy Ritzy diaper bag. I really loved the look of this one because it looks like a purse. Diaper bags have come a long way! It also has straps on the back so you can wear it like a back pack, which I’m all about! There are tons of pockets, and two insulated ones. I also like that it’s gender neutral so I can re-use it as necessary šŸ˜‰

That’s a little peek into things for me and baby girl. I can’t wait to be able to update you guys on these products once she’s here. If you have any of these or something similar please drop a comment below and let me know how you liked it.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

XOXO,

Minnie

I used the halo bassinet for my little girl and loved it! It was so nice having her so close. I was sad when we moved her to the crib. I wish I had gotten the breastfeeding pillow but oh well. And as I’m sure you’ve heard breastfeeding is hard at first but so worth it. It might even be painful for a bit but it definitely gets better! I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding for almost 9 months, I’m so happy I stuck with it. It’s such a beautiful bonding time ā¤ļø My only word of advice is to introduce a bottle early and consistently offer it. I didn’t do this and she’s never taken a bottle.

Thanks for the advice! I think she will end up getting a bottle too because I will be going back to work part time. Can’t wait to use the halo! Plus my mind will be at ease knowing she’s right there šŸ™‚
