Happy Easter
Happy Easter! I’m sure you are all out there spending the holiday with family and friends so I will try to keep things short today š
Yesterday I said I would use my Homemade Taco Seasoning for a recipe, but then I realized most of you would be out with family, or enjoying your holiday, so I decided to postpone it a day.
I started my morning yesterday with a blueberries and cream protein shake. This was frozen wild blueberries, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, half a frozen banana, and vanilla protein powder! Yummy
Then it was my goal to order PINK tickets, well at 10am on the dot, ticketmaster crashed and at 10:01 there wasn’t a ticket to be had… I couldn’t believe it! Darn scalpers. Guess I will have to go with stub hub. The whole concert thing is such a scam nowadays š
I actually had another shake (addict anyone?), but a chocolate casein one before I hit the gym!
I started with the smith machine to get my heart rate up. After a mini squat warm up I hit my regular routine:
- Regular squats, 115 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Plie squats, 115 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Lunges 95 lbs, 10 reps x 3 sets each leg
- Calf raises, 165 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Deep squats, 95 lbs, 8 reps x 3 sets
Unfortunately, I really started to feel it in my right side/butt area from my fall the night before. I could have done more smith work, but didn’t want to injure myself further.
Then I hit the stairmaster for 32 minutes. Wow I was sweating!
After I was finished I focused on hamstrings instead of quads for my leg day
- Hello Hamstrings, 50 lb bar on shoulders, 15 reps x 4 sets
- Hamstring curls, 70-85 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Hamstring pulls with stability ball. Laying down, Heels on ball, lift butt and pelvis off the mat and pull the ball in with your heels. 10 reps x 4 sets
- Glute bridges with 25 lb plate on abs, 12 reps x 4 sets
I hit the ellitpical for 12 minutes, then finished with some curtsy lunges. I alternated and did speed skater type lunges a little deeper than normal. Alternating 20 reps x 4 sets
I think I also threw in a couple bosu squats but not much because my bum was sore!
Some nice mat stretching and I called it a day! š
After, I went to Starbucks for a coffee and I was Lucy
Then off to G-Mama and Pop Pops to hang out (I dropped Phoebs off earlier)
I had a big bowl of overnight oats with cinnamon and almonds
While snacking, I chatted with G-Mama and we watched some TLC shows.
I went home earlier than normal, had dinner, watched a little tv, and got dressed for a little night out. I know, stop the presses, I took part in a social outing! It was a low key pub with a live band that did covers of mostly alternative 90s music. Pretty cool! Think Sublime, Lit, Fuel, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age.
Real clothes were worn again! What? This is a weekly thing now?
But underneath that red shirt lies my hidden weapons!
I kept them hidden for the night though š
Today is shoulder day. My favorite workout of the week! Early gym session again because gym closes early so the Easter Bunny can make his/her appearance.

Is there anything special you do to get yiur shakes to look so fluffy?? Also, could I use regular milk instead of almond milk?

Nope! I think just whipping the frozen banana over and over makes the difference. Yes you can use regular milk, I just like almond milk, plus regular milk and I aren’t a good combo!
