Lyft Me Up

So what have I been up to? Well getting in some pretty great workouts these past two days. I did a killer leg session that I shared on my Instagram page…


And now I can barely walk! Whoopsies.

So the following morning I decided to hit the gym early because what’s worse than the morning after leg day? Later that day after leg day. Phew. The night after and the following morning are always the worst when you slaughter your legs. All my gal pals out there feel me on this when you need to use the restroom. Yeah, have fun sitting down. What a joke!

I went into the land of shoulders that morning and I’ve been really lifting HEAVY. Pushing my body to the absolute limits. Maxing out my lifts and pressing single arm dumbbells to 20 lbs an arm for as many reps as I can. I have plans to grow and get these muscles to the best they can be. I learned my past 2 shows that the leaning out process also takes away some of that hard earned muscle, so I might as well start with more!



As you see in the top picture, I’ve been no stranger to some of the pre-workout drinks. They fuel me after a long day of work and help pump me up for my lifts. Well thanks to my friends over at Sweat Pink and Pure LYFT, I was introduced to these amazing new clean caffeine sticks! These are called Pure LYFT Energy Stir Sticks.


They are a natural caffeine that can be stirred into any beverage; made from an all natural green coffee bean extract. The bonus? There is Vitamin A and B in these guys! Extra bonus? 0 calories! I pride myself on clean eating, but then I’ll pound the pre-workout, which definitely is not the cleanest drink out there. These sticks are chemical free and give you the boost of energy that a tall cup of coffee would. Plus they are perfect for on the go, super portable- just stash them in your gym bag, purse, or huge lunchbox like I do 😉

The label peels down and then the stick goes in the drink for 20 seconds. You can either throw the stick out, or keep it in the glass for a cool conversation piece!


Phoebe and I enjoyed it on my balcony since it was a BEAUTIFUL morning out.


The verdict?



I have a hard time getting up in the mornings when I’m not going to work. Okay let’s face it, I have a hard time getting up when I DO have to go to work. Wouldn’t we all rather just sleep in until 9am? So these sticks are perfect when I’m rushing to get ready in the mornings and do not have time to put on that pot of coffee. A stick in my water on the drive to work and I’m wide eyed for 6am patient rounds!

Good News to end the day, I’m done typing my E-Book! Someone please sound the horns! I still have some photography to work on and the formatting business, but if all goes according to plan I’m hoping within 1-2 weeks it’ll be completely finished. I cannot wait to share my work with the world 🙂 Even if no one reads it but my Mom and Dad, I’ll know I put my everything into it.

      Yes eating more! Honestly I will prob have to put on 10-15 lbs this summer, obvious what people DON’T WANT to do in the summer time. It’s impossible to stay lean and build, but it’ll be worth it come October!

        I’m trying to build up muscle too so you’re not the only one! I actually find it motivating to read about people who are actually trying to gain as there are so many unhealthy blogs out there trying to promote weight loss over anything. Especially as someone who has had a bad relationship with food in the past, its so helpful reading blogs where they promote eating! Thanks KAtie, Tam x

    Your gorgeous, obsessed!! And obsessed with that tank top! Yay finally a clean pre workout! I don’t take pre workout, but it has always drove me insane how many chemicals were in them, and then add on the fact that so many health people were drinking them. So I really just love the fact that there is a clean option :).

    Hi Minnie,

    First I wanted to say how inspired I am by your fitness journey and all you’ve accomplished!

    I work out early in the morning before work (like 5:15 AM early) and sometimes find it difficult to work out at my hardest, as I’m still fairly groggy and don’t eat before hand (just have a glass of water). I do mostly plyo workiuts which are pretty high intensity. I’ve been thinking about adding in a pre workout drink into my routine, but as you said, they all seem so “dirty”. Do you have any to recommend that are better than others?
