Welcome Home
Well hello there! Did you miss me yesterday? I hope so! It felt weird not having a real blog up, but things have been a tad crazy around here. The move went pretty smooth, I just still do not have everything put away yet. The kitchen was the first thing I unpacked of course.
When I got here Friday morning first thing that needed to be done was get a coffee! My Starbucks is in walking distance now. No crossing the street needed, a parking lot over. How convenient š
Back at the apartment I had breakfast and went out on the balcony while the cable guy was doing his thing.
Stuff was piling up quickly from the movers and I absolutely could not have done it without my dads help (Love you dad!) He did so much for me! And when everything was over from my apartment he brought my girl with him š Oh and some cherries. Not exactly in the diet plan, but I am allowed a cheat a week. Really cherries I don’t consider a cheat. They were amazing!
After scoping out my place a little more I realized these are in the garage. Going to make life so much easier when I grocery shop. Amazing.
When the movers left I took Phoebe for her FIRST walk around the neighborhood. She loved it!
Then I went back to my old apartment to grab the final things, turn in my keys, and say peace.
So I will admit, I’m VERY weird with change. I hate it at the time, but then I am always thankful later on. I was a little sad leaving this place, but that soon washed away when I realized how AMAZING my new home is. Phoebe is in heaven over here. She walks around like she owns the place. Everyone at the main lobby laughs at her because she walks like a princess. One day I will upload a video to show you, she prances and hops like a bunny rather than a regular walk with one leg in front of the other. What a diva…
I had lunch and she was right by my side for that too
Then I organized a bit. Most important cabinet is right here š
In the afternoon I decided to try out my new apartment gym. I am truly in love. Since my building is pretty empty (it’s brand new), I have the whole gym to myself! It looks like the equipment has never been used. I love it.
I did shoulders and a little bit of cardio. My NPC meal plan has really been doing good for my body. I never used to post stuff like this but trying to gain confidence through this whole process. PLUS, I work incredibly hard to look this way so as G-Mama says “might as well show it off”
I am so excited to see where I will be 11 weeks from now! My coaches are actually upping my food intake a little bit since my weight went down this week. After all I’m looking to gain muscle, not really lose any weight.
That night I made a healthy ground chicken dish that was NPC bikini friendly using a little light sodium soy sauce, ground ginger, edamame, PB2 and extra virgin olive oil. Protein packed and good for me š
The next day (Saturday) was another busy day. First of all it was Miss Shelby Ann’s Birthday! Yay Happy Birthday Shelbs š
Phoebe and I went to PetSmart to pick up a present, and I also snuck in a nail trim for her. I was shocked at how good she was.
We finally made our way to G-Mama and Pop Pops because she didn’t get to go the day before. I had lunch which included a new NPC friendly recipe. This is a Quinoa Crusted Sweet Potato Burger. Simple clean ingredients. No fillers. NO SPICES. Flavor is great! Recipe to come tomorrow.
After my meal I went to the gym for some chest and triceps. Killed it!
Then I did some work on the spin bike (HIIT=High Intensity Interval Training).
So before leaving I snapped this pic below, like I usually do. When I looked back at it I realized how genuinely HAPPY I look in it. My face is just lit up. Moving to my new apartment was a wonderful decision. I feel happy, accomplished, and like I could conquer the world. I also feel super confident with my body. Feels great to be in such a wonderful place in life.
When I came home Phoebe and I went for a long walk.
Probably too long! We were gone about 20 minutes. It was so beautiful out, but little Phoebe is not used to walking that long. By the end of it I thought I was going to have to carry her up the hill near our apartment. She stopped and sat down. I have to work on this dogs cardio stamina!
I am grateful for one more day of this, even though we are expecting rain. These past 2 days have been so great in our new home. I never want to go to work again! Okay I’d probably get bored… but plenty of time to enjoy it here, because we are staying put a while š
Have a great Sunday. Recipe to come tomorrow!
XOXO With a Cherry On Top,
-Minnie
P.S. My fit family, PLEASE do not eat these!
These berries are from Costco and there is an outbreak of Hepatitis A linked to them. As a fitness blogger and PA , I have to warn my healthy eaters. PLEASE share this info! You can read the article here.

Glad you have settled into your new apartment, the view is amazing and your neighborhood looks lovely! I wish I had a gym so close to my house, saves driving time.
I can already see the changes of your body so whatever you are doing, it is working, good luck with it, you deserve it. Tam x
