What’s Up Next
Well hello gang!
Quite the whirlwind this past weekend huh? Again, so honored to have placed, and SO thankful for all the kind words all of you said. I read every single comment and you guys are awesome! Each one touched my heart.
So now what?
Well I have 10 days until my next competition….
SAY WHAT?
Yep. Bitten by the stage bug. Next one is Natural North America in Alexandria, Virginia. I figure I might as well since I’m in great shape already. I just need to get my stomach back down to where it was. 3 days later and I’m still so bloated and uncomfortable. Did I eat? You betcha! Did I enjoy it? You betcha! Did I regret it? Not at all!
I felt like I deserved my one day. So for 24 hours I ate whatever I wanted to without counting macros. I didn’t go through the McDonalds drive through, or hit up Coldstone or Pizza Hut (I know better). Things that are fried, have red sauces, and are dairy do not mix with me on a regular day… let alone after 13 weeks of a strict diet. However, I did enjoy things I had been craving. Carbs, Candy, Sushi!
The sushi I couldn’t even finish. I will never leave a sushi roll, but I was afraid I would get super sick and I didn’t want that happening. I even came back to it, had one piece and said okay body, I won’t do that to you. So unfortunately in the trash it went.
I also didn’t go to the gym that day. The whole day went like this: eat, nap, eat, nap, eat… you get the point 😉
Part of me napping so much was because I hadn’t slept much the previous 2 nights from the excitement, but I think the real reason was the food! It’s amazing how energy levels change with foods you put into your body. When I was eating clean I was tired from workouts, but my body never felt gross and lethargic. Eating junk I literally would fall asleep in my chair 15 minutes later. It was a different type of being tired. Almost a food coma. I also woke up with a raging headache the next day from dehydration, that stayed around all day long. I did hit the gym, but kept it light because I felt bad.
I’m still not feeling 100% myself. I think I need a few more days. Just that little bit of food completely messed with my system, but I’ve been hitting the gym each night to get ready again for April 26th. A little de-bloating is all I need and to drop that water weight peak week and I should be good to go again 🙂
So let’s take a look at what’s next for Minnie:
- INBF Natural North America- April 26th
- Hoping to have e-book cookbook out by middle-end of May
- NGA 34th Annual Annapolis Bodybuilding, Figure, and Bikini Championships- June 1st
- The month of June I’m taking off completely from prep.
- Fit Bloggin ’14 conference in Savannah June 26-29
- July- back to the grind prepping for next show
- Blogfest Idea Fit conference Aug 14-17 in Anaheim, Cali
- OCB Charm City Classic- October 18th in Baltimore, MD
Lots of fun things to look forward to! I can’t wait for the summer for my blogger conferences 🙂 And how nice I can eat yummy healthy food there without worrying about prepping since I’m taking off all of June away from bikini related things. Still will be hitting the gym hard though 😀
Yesterday I hit glutes and cardio, and then for the rest of this week my normal lifts until another peak week.
And the best part of my day? When I found my stethoscope 5 minutes before I left work. It had been in the PACU for about 2 months and I didn’t know it!
That’s it for today,
I’ll be blogging again this weekend, but still as busy as ever!
XOXO With a Cherry On Top,
-Minnie

You have a lot of things to look forward to there! All sound great, good luck with your next competition also. So happy you took a day off to relax, you deserved it. Can’t wait to hear more. Just wondering, I often feel bloated too at times and just wondered what you do to try and de-bloat etc Thanks Tam x
Katie
Yes, lots to look forward to, lots to do, LOTS of money to save lol
Katie
For de-bloating- LOTS of water, and this may be TMI but stool softeners… NOT laxatives (I don’t do those). I have tummy problems so I wasn’t regular and needed something to help regulate me more without resorting to stupid laxatives that can harm you. Stool softeners work. And just time and staying away from gassy veggies for a few days! -broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, etc
