Sorry for the MIA episode. My iMac’s video card blew last Friday and I finally got the call to pick it up yesterday!
I have been very lost without my computer in the mornings, so one day I decided to whip out the old laptop from my parents house. That was a BAD idea.
I found old pictures, letters, documents. Oh the things we think when we are younger huh?
It’s Friday too! I’m super excited about this weekend. Tony surprised me last night and told me he took today off so we are spending the day together. 4 day weekend because of the holiday. I’m so happy 🙂
So what have I been up to these past few days?
Well eating this and that… making a few recipes… and just living a normal life before the prep game begins again. Last weekend Tony and I had plans to go to a carnival near his hometown but there was an awful storm that came through.
We made it IN the carnival, then got stuck in downpours.
I also may have taken a selfie or two. It’s RARE I wear makeup anymore, but that’s just the fit girl lifestyle I guess. I will never be a girl that can wear makeup to the gym. My skin would hate me anyway.
And then he judged me for the selfie…

Yes those are leggings for HIM, NOT ME. Let’s not get me started on this little trend. Guys wear these (well bodybuilders) for leg day now. I’ve seen Tony in a pair of them once and the look on my face… I’m not sure how to explain it. I call them MEGGINGS (male leggings). Please spread this new word like wild fire if you wish.
Anyway, I refuse for my boyfriend and I to show up in matching leggings… Okay so I’m exaggerating a little, but c’mon. Give me something here! I sent this picture to my best friend Sarah and she said the same “yeah that’s something we would wear”.
I hope you catch the sarcasm here and that I really wouldn’t throw a fit over him wearing meggings. Funny though, huh?

I should’ve asked him to put the meggings on and strike a bikini girl pose like me 😉
This past Tuesday we had our first official Taco Tuesday night! It turned out great. I made everything healthy
Well almost. I had to sneak in these taco shells for my guy that loves Doritos
- Ground turkey with my OWN Homemade Taco Seasoning (low sodium!)
- Chopped Chicken (not pictured… whoops)
- Taco shells, soft and hard.
- Greek Yogurt instead of sour cream
- Fat Free Cheese
- White rice with salsa mixed in
- Salsas and taco sauces
- Refried organic black beans, fat free
- AND GUACAMOLE
Shout out to Tony for going to the store after the gym because I cried over my avocados being bad. You can’t have Taco Tuesday without guac in my opinion. It’s the best part of the taco! He saved the day.
This weekend we are hitting the gym and going to a bodybuilding show in Pennsylvania to cheer on a gym friend competing. We are carpooling with a few others from our gym so there will be a lot of meathead talk in one car. Oh my favorite 😉
I leave you with this little workout to try this weekend. I’ve done this a few times at the end of a leg workout and it’s a killer.
- 3 minute spin bike warmup
- 1 minute standing climb sprint
- 1 minute seated sprint (low resistance)
- 12 squats with feet together, holding 15 lb dumbbells under your chin (like a front squat)
- 20 alternating lunges with weights
- 1 minute spin
THEN you repeat this 3 other times, starting again with the spin sprints. Cool down for 5 minutes on the spin bike. I guarantee you will be sweating because there are NO BREAKS! Enjoy 🙂
