Friday Faves

Hi everyone! HAPPY FRIDAY!

I’m so excited for this Friday among others because Tony and I are going away for the weekend. There is a meal in sight, and we have it all picked out! I told him I’m more excited for the actual experience of a real date night rather than the food, but I will still take the meal since I’m allowed 🙂

My favorite thing to do is spend time with my guy. He’s so busy so our time is precious.

What else are some of my favorite things? Well let’s talk Friday Faves.

First things first. Shelby’s haircut

We can all say “awwww” together. I’m SO obsessed with it. She looks like a tiny little teddy bear. PLUS she’s so happy because the poor dog can breathe again. Shelby’s coat is thicker than Phoebe’s, so imagine in the heat and humidity of good old Maryland, how good it must feel to have a smidge of relief!

Next up, calf raises on the smith machine

I am determined this season to have somewhat of a calf muscle. Some people are just born with great calves (ahem TONY), others can train them into the ground and still have nothing to work with. I think I am somewhere in the middle. As you can see here I have a plate on the ground in front of me for a better range of motion. Lift up on the toes and back down to extend the calf. Sometimes I stack two plates. I do 15-20 reps for 3-4 sets. These are also good if you want to keep moving in the gym. For instance you’re short on time, do your regular squats, in between each set throw these in.

I’m not sure where I’ve been the past year, but over the past few months I’ve become obsessed with this app. This was sent to me from one of my close gym friends as she was on the step mill. Talk about dedication to the snap. That’s me in there, and yes she drew all the sprinkles 😉 My nickname is Spranks, well besides Minnie of course. You can follow me at Katiekoblinsky

This BBQ sauce.

Now I know it’s sugar free, which means it’s not 100% clean. HOWEVER, It tastes like real, thick BBQ sauce. I use a tablespoon or two a day and it has changed the prep game for me a bit. The macros are incredible at 10 calories and 2 grams of carbs for 2 Tablespoons.

Also on the list, my NEW favorite protein.

Sometimes whey powders will claim “vanilla ice cream swirl” or “amazing double chocolate brownie” when in reality it’s just plain vanilla and chocolate. THIS STUFF really tastes like a snicker doodle cookie. I put a sprinkle in my coffee in the morning and it tastes like creamer!

This is my friend Chelsea. She is on my natural competitors team and has overcome the odds of beating an eating disorder, putting on healthy weight, and kicking butt in local competitions. I’m so proud of her.

She contacted me a few months back and we talked about struggles and competing. She is also a loyal reader. Thank you Chelsea for inspiring so many people with your story! I can’t imagine how hard it must be coming out to the world about your past, but I know it will help others 🙂
