Hey I Gave it a Tri
Yesterday was a total bummer of a Monday for me. Without going into major details, I wasn’t feeling well again. I know it always seems like I am under the weather, and a lot of the time, I usually am. It’s nothing that will kill me, it’s just something I have dealt with for a while that I’d rather not share, but I just deal with it the best I can and try to continue on with my life! Not everything is rainbows all the time π
I started my work morning with new crunchies I bought in bulk from BJs. I have bought this brand before but the bananas and strawberries flavor. These came in a combo pack that also included apple and pear. Well the apple ones are amazing! They are so tart and delicious! The apple flavor is so great!
I also had greek yogurt with berries
Sorry I had it on top of my work papers and had to smudge out everything.
Even though I was feeling down, it was a good hair day for not even trying! I think it’s the new shampoo I bought. It’s Burt’s Bees “gud blood orange”. Smells really good!
After seeing patients and doing my regular thing, it was finally time for lunch. Woo hoo!
4:30 couldn’t come soon enough. I already planned on going straight home to lay down. It was all over my face. When 3:30 hit I kept thinking one more hour come on, I can make it, then I can go home and rest!
When I got home I grabbed Phoebe and we took a nap in my bed for an hour. I never actually lay back in my bed, I’ll sit in my chair in front of the TV and doze, but I really just needed no sound and to let my body relax. Phoebe was good and let me sleep for an hour too.
Dinner was boring because after I wake up from a nap I absolutely do not feel like cooking. I made a wrap with leftover tofu, snacked on grapes, carrots, and broccoli. It was one of those stand and eat days. You guys know ’em, we all do it! That’s zero calories right?
After much debate, I decided to try to workout for a little bit. I went downstairs in my apartment gym and did 35 minutes on the elliptical then a few tricep exercises. Hence the title, I gave it a Tri!Β
Even though I wasn’t feeling that great, a little exercise is better than nothing at all. I felt good for getting something in! So even if you don’t have an hour to spend in the gym, all it takes is a little effort. Plus it just made me feel better too. Emotionally and physically.
I just did 3 tricep exercises and then some side bends with a 30 lb weight
- cable tricep pull downs, 40-50 lbs, 12-15 reps x 4 sets
- cable underhand grip tricep pulldown, 40-50 lbs, 12-15 reps x 4 sets
- Overhead tricep extension, 25 lb weight, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Side bends 30 lbs, 12 reps x 2 sets each side
This was about a 45 minute workout. A little goes a long way! Better than stuffing my face and feeling blue!
3 more work days to go! Actually Thursday will be a fun day for me because I am in the OR for most of the day. I don’t count that as actual work as much as the other stuff I do. It’s more “hey let’s have fun putting people back together again!” Okay that came out sounding weird… but you guys know what I mean!
Definitely hitting the gym later because it’s BACK DAY! This is quickly becoming my favorite lift day (giving shoulders a stiff competition). I’ll have to work in biceps either today or tomorrow. Might make a chest/bicep combo day tomorrow. We will see!
XOXO With a Cherry On Top,

Well I hope whatever your dealing with gets easier π I completely agree, I always feel better that I did a little rather than do nothing when I’m not feeling up to par.

Thanks Chelsea! I ended up doing it at like 9pm at night too! Probably why I couldn’t fall asleep till after midnight… whoops
