It’s HERE!
Friday! You are here! You have been hiding from me all week, that wasn’t very nice. But I’m glad you are back. Oh how I missed you so much π
My Thursday was pretty good. I spent the entire day in the OR. Gallbladder removal, hernia repair, and a breast reduction. I was very fortunate to work with good people for these cases too, that helps the day along so much! I actually heard the floor was so busy too. Did I feel guilty? Nope, not at all. It’s such a relief to get away from the heavy patient load on the floors!
After morning rounds I had to eat something super quick before heading to my cases. Another quest bar and banana, no pic needed. I think you guys have the idea by now!
Lunch was leftover dinner from the night before. My asian shrimp dish. I had just enough time for a lunch break before going back.
By the time I was finished in the operating room, it was time to go! Sweet deal of a day. I had a protein shake and some more corn cakes with Nutzo
I really had to force myself to go to the gym, my head was pounding and I just wanted to go to sleep. Phoebe and I had a little episode the night before so I didn’t sleep well at all.
I did a little chest routine and a little cardio, in and out!
I did my strength training first:
- Chest presses seated declined back on smith machine. 65 lbs, 12 reps x 6 reps
- Cable chest pulls, 30-35 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Cable torso twists, 35-40 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets each side
- Pec presses/squeeze standing on bosu ball, 15 lb weights, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Bosu squats, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Pec Fly’s 55-60 lbs, 10 reps x 3 sets
- Pushups on bosu, 10 reps x 2 sets
- TRX pushups, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Side bends, 25 lbs 12 reps x 2 sets each side
I did a 12 minute treadmill session (half run, half speed walk) then did 20 minutes on the incline elliptical. I was so tired and actually my shoulder hurt pretty bad so I had to leave after the hour.
When I came home Miss Phoebe was so excited to see me. We did a little weekend dance! Then made a nice dinner which included this salad
then my tilapia dish with avocado. I love this dish so much!
After dinner we hung out and watched the finale of American Idol. Okay I know I said I was going to quit watching weeks ago, but I would just put it on while I cooked to hear some out of key music π
Anyway I put in so much effort watching I had to finish the season! And I really had my suspicions about EVERYTHING. Either the season was NEVER live and the whole thing was taped, or the finale was taped. Did anyone else notice Mariah Carey? (besides the obviously bad lip syncing they all did). She was about 30 lbs lighter than she was last week! How come no one is mentioning this? What did she magically lose a bunch of weight in 1 week!? You could tell the most in her face. You guys know how I am with weight loss so I picked up on it the second she walked out.
So that’s my conspiracy theory for the day π
Today Phoebe and I have a nice day ahead! We are going to my BFFs house to visit (they just moved in their first house!) and then to G-Mama and Pop Pops. Yay for visits.
I feel a leg day coming… it’s a brewin’

Love that pick of phoebe, too cute!! I haven’t been watching American Idol, but Mariah (to me) has always looked the same, just looked it up, an article said “seems she has trimmed down”. Wow, I don’t get why people, or mainly celebrities will “trim down” right before they perform, wouldn’t they want to be healthy all the time?? Enjoy your visits π
