Monday Start

Hi everyone!

It’s Monday. I usually do a recap of our super fun weekend, but yesterday and today Minnie is flying solo. It seems the days I work Tony is off, and the days he works, I am off. Can our schedules get it together? I guess that’s what happens when you don’t have a normal 9-5. While I don’t talk about my work anymore, moving away from a normal 9-5 was the best decision I ever made. I’m much happier. You make big plans and then they don’t work out as you had planned. Guess what? That’s OKAY! I took a risk with my last job, it wasn’t what I hoped for, and then without me even looking an opportunity fell into my lap. Basically what I am saying is those risks don’t always work out, sometimes they do and that’s awesome, but don’t beat yourself up. Something better is around the corner! 🙂

I do want to acknowledge that Phoebe is back to her little diva self. Thank goodness! That dog was going to send me into irregular heart rhythms. Her tail is back up, she’s back to huffing in my face when she wants rubs, and back to jumping around for G-Mama’s house. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Tony and I did get a little time together on Saturday. First up? Couch time before the gym.

Fun fact about me, and Tony will tease me for the rest of my life… I HATE to snuggle. I’m probably the only woman alive who hates it. Many things have changed since I started dating Tony. I was always the single gal, independent, maybe went on a date or two but wanted them to leave right away… but when I met Tony everything changed and I wanted to be with him all the time. The one thing that didn’t change? Snuggling. I still don’t like it, and I never will. Does that mean I’m not an affectionate person? Absolutely not. Phoebe and I don’t even snuggle! We keep our distance. I grew up in a very “huggy” home. We showed our love and affection for family members, we still are that way! I don’t know maybe, I will change with time, but I think it’s probably related to some crazy anxiety claustrophobia thing I have. I realize as I read this back I sound like a cold person, I’m not I swear. Just a quirk!

But anyway, after fake couch “snuggling” came the gym and look who joined me on the step mill

He’s been more of a treadmill guy lately, but I think he hit the step mill because this was coming…

I didn’t have any 🙁

I’m trying to stick to my guns and my meal plan so I ordered a salad, dressing on the side, and brought my own balsamic vinegar from home.

Mixed greens, fresh shrimp (protein), sliced grapes and roasted beets (carbs), and goat cheese (fats). It’s easy to eat out nowadays, you just have to ask for the right things! Always do dressing on the side or they will drown your greens.

There was a piece left, but Tony manned up and finished it! I expected that 😉

Even though this happened BEFORE dinner…

He’s a bodybuilder, gotta eat!

And speaking of “gotta eat”. While Tony was at work yesterday I made this awesome healthy white chicken chili. It was my first attempt at making “white chili” and it turned out fabulous! Stay tuned tomorrow for the recipe 🙂

I’m off for the day to do some errands and things. Have a great start to your week!

XOXO With a Cherry On Top,

Oh. My. Gosh . . . I am not alone hahah. Ever since I can remember, I have been the “need my personal space” girl! I too grew up in a very huggy, hands-on family. It took years and years and years, but my husband got me to enjoy snuggling. It has to be on my terms though, or I feel that ol’ anxiety creeping up. So glad you found Tony to “fake snuggle” with. That’s a big step. 🙂
