Not So Full OR Day
One day down, 3 to go. Choosing to be optimistic that I’ve completed one day, even though we all know today is my least favorite day of the week 😉
Yesterday I wasn’t dreading going into work because I knew I had a full day of the OR. Well come to find out that full day, turned into a not so full OR day and I was bummed. I like being able to practice my sewing and get faster. Oh well, there’s always other times.
So I spent a big chunk of my day playing catch up on dictations before they kick me out of the hospital for unfinished paperwork 😉
Maybe it was a good thing I wasn’t in the operating room all day, because those beast mode arms of mine? Well every time I moved I said ouch. So sore. I hadn’t done a tricep workout like that in quite some time! Plus I was REALLY dragging. I went to bed late, but I always do during the work week. Phoebe was not pleased when my alarms went off and I scooped her up, gave her puppy love, and what did she do while Mommy got ready for work? Well she slid right under the couch (her spot) and went to sleep. I started laughing. Mommy may have to get up and rock and roll, but Phoebe is going back to bed. Thanks for rubbing it in little one 😉
By afternoon I got slammed, spent some time in the ER, and tried figuring out our new computer system. I’m pretty tech savvy, so I can imagine if I am having problems, other people are really struggling.
I changed for the gym at 4:30 and wore one of my favorite color combo outfits. I swear fun outfits get my going so much. I remember the days when I used to wear long sleeve shirts or plain hanes tees to the gym with baggy shorts. Things have changed drastically! This was when I was in my late teen years to early 20s and I also didn’t feel as comfortable in cute clothing as I do now. My confidence has built up quite a bit since becoming super fit.
I am a little over a week into my Beautiful Booty Booster Program and I really think I am seeing a difference already! I have also been consistently lifting and hitting the gym hard too so maybe it’s that as well, but hey I like what I’m seeing and I like the way I’m feeling!
My gym session was a good one. I had a lot of energy. I started right with my booty booster work:
- 100 regular squats (50 of these I actually did on the smith machine)
- 80 single leg dead lifts with 15 lb kettle (it was supposed to be 60, but I thought it was 4 sets! Oh well, a bonus!)
- 40 Stability ball hamstring curls
- 100 Plie squats (again, I did 50 on smith)
- 32 low squat pulses
I like to do my plie squats on my toes sometimes for an extra calf workout. Here was the rest of my workout to include some chest stuff:
- Pushups on bosu, 10 reps x 4 sets
- Side bends, 25 lb plate, 10 reps x 2 sets each side
- Pec squeeze, 17.5 lb weights, 12 reps x 3 sets
- Chest presses laying on stability ball, 40 lb barbell, 15 reps x 4 sets (KILLER!)
- 20 minutes on the elliptical
- 10 minutes on the arc trainer
I wish I could have these pants in every color! Lululemon pants are the best because there are NO sweat lines even during the most beast workouts.
Here is today’s booty workout: (R is for Reps, S for Sets):
- Alternating side squats with barbell, 60 reps (10R, 3S)
- Sidekicks with a side squat, 30 each side (10R, 3S)
- 50 Regular squats (see if you can do 50 in a row!)
- 30 Deep Bosu squats (10R, 3S)
- 40 Smith Dead lifts (10R, 4S)
Of note, you can switch out squats for lunges. Lunges REALLY work the glutes, but unfortunately my knee does not allow many of them so I try to stay away as much as possible.
At home I made dinner and then watched TV with my best friend 🙂

We also watched Ellen. It was so nice to have Ellen back after the summer off. Even though I totally cried at the end because of the CoverGirl. Oh Ellen….
Then Phoebe stared at her reflection for a good 30 minutes. Hey we like to look at ourselves 😉
