Shopping Craze and Leg Days
Good Morning All! I’m back at work… enter the violins here 🙁
Even though I am back at it, I had a fabulous four days off. I hit the gym super hard and spent lots of time with my baby girl!
In the morning I woke up to coffee and a protein shake! This one was a frozen banana (of course) with almond milk and cookies and cream protein. Yummers!
I then got dressed in REAL clothes and actually put on some makeup! What? Crazy, I know! It actually felt weird because I haven’t worn makeup in a few weeks.
I tried this top on first but I felt like the Incredible Hulk in it! The chest and stomach area fit fine, but the arms, oh my! It was so tight and cutting off my circulation. I guess it shows that I have gained a lot of muscle in my arms since I last wore it. I’ll take it!
I settled for this
And Phoebe Jumped in this one!
Then I headed to the mall to look for shoes (which I did not come out with by the way… I refused to buy the display shoe that every one has touched for full price!). Follow me on my trip to the mall
I just like walking in this store really. It always smells good, and all the cookware is so shiny! As G-Mama would say “I’m like a bird” because we like shiny things! It just says hello, welcome, please come in, put on a cute little apron and bake some cookies please. If I hit the lottery I think I would go here and buy out the store. I even love the displays!
Then I came across this… THE DREAM!
This my friends is a Vitamix. It’s the best blender on the planet. They come in a few different models, but if I was going to splurge and spend a ridiculous amount I’d buy the best one. It literally can blend cement. So how much is this guy, well make sure you aren’t drinking anything because you are about to spit it all over the place. This is a $660 blender. Yup! I’ve been drooling over it for about a year now, but I can’t bring myself to buy it. Even though I blend every single day and it would get it’s use, it just seems too extravagant. Again, if I hit the lottery I’d have it shipped to me tomorrow 🙂
I also came across this awesome cake pan I wish I would have bought! I think I’m going to order it online. It’s so adorable!
It was a reasonable price too for this store.
I ended up walking out with a knife and a small whisk to use for vinaigrettes. It’s the cheap hand version of the vitamix 😉
I stopped for a quick caffeine fix at Starbucks and almost lost my mind over the price of a skinny iced vanilla latte! Almost 5 bucks? I am by no means cheap, but it’s been a while since I bought Starbucks (other than a regular coffee at work). I thought I heard the guy wrong! They are making a killing!
Disney store was up next. I went in for my niece Bella, but I end up having just as much fun for myself! I just love Disney. Look at all the great Minnie stuff they had!
I even went in Sephora to return something and walked out empty handed! This is one for the record books. I couldn’t see spending money on makeup I don’t wear anymore. I was so proud of myself!
This is what I ended with…
At home I made a quick lunch
Once I got to G-Mama and Pop Pops, I hit the gym for leg day! And boy was it one. By the end of the workout I looked at this guy I always see there and said I’m going to have to be carried out of here, I’m dying. So I’m a little dramatic… but it’s okay. But then I felt good when he said “well I get exhausted just watching you!”. Yes I’m the beast in my gym, WIN!
I started with 25 minutes on the stairs. I felt like I could have gone longer but I wanted to focus on the strength training. Lots of squats were done!
- Smith machine squats 115 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Plie smith squats 125 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Calf raises on smith machine, 135 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Curtsy lunges on smith machine, 95 lbs, 10 reps x 3 sets each leg
- Hello hamstrings with 50 lb bar on shoulders, 15 reps x 4 sets
I also did LOADS of regular squats that I won’t bore you with. I used a 50 lb bar, a bosu (I did really deep squats on this and it was KILLER), and also side squats and regular lunges.
I probably did about 400 squats/lunges. I’m not kidding you! I didn’t want to use any machines (besides the smith) because I feel like my body does better on it’s own.
I finished up cardio with 10 minutes of the arc trainer at a higher resistance, and then some planks on my palms (side planks too). Then lots and lots of stretching!
At home I made dinner and watched Dancing With the Stars. It was quite tragic and fabulous at the same time! I expected the Bachelor to have zero rhythm, and he wasn’t as bad as I anticipated which was a little disappointing 😉
I’ll be back in the gym later today. I’m pretty sure it’s back day, but I have to double check. Love working my back now!
Have a lovely day!
XOXO With a Cherry On Top,
