15 Flights of Madness

Good Morning, Happy Halloween!

Usually I am saying oh yeah, Thursday! Tomorrow I am working, slight schedule change, so I was off yesterday. It was nice having a mid week break, but that much harder to get out of bed the next morning. Actually I ended up falling asleep on the couch, woke up at 3 and said well I might as well just stay here. Phoebe gets VERY excited for “big bed” time and I didn’t want to get her all riled up for just an hour of sleep.

I liked having the day to myself yesterday, but I will keep my normal Monday through Thursday thank you.

My morning started with the cable company coming and fixing my TV and internet. Woo hoo! And they actually came first thing! That NEVER happens šŸ™‚

As you can see I was so happy to have my service back šŸ™‚

Then I went outside for a run. I did a 12 minute run in the neighborhood, then 10 minutes of HILL HIIT SPRINTS (sprint up, jog/walk down), I did the hill 10 times, and then a 10 minute run home with a 3 minute cool down walk.

During my run I realized I am one of the dumbest people alive. I kept asking people I knew if they knew a place with a lot of stairs to run. Preferably outside, but just something sturdy that wasn’t shaky high school bleachers. Well HELLO I live in an apartment building that has 15 floors. Wow folks, I’m not too brilliant am I? So naturally after an exhausting run I get a case of the crazies and decide to do the stairs.

I ran up and down 15 floors 4.5 times (I live in the middle). I mean I RAN up these steps like someone was chasing me. On the way down I alternated between a jog and a fast walk down. When I hit the FINAL set I thought okay this is it. Nope, not “this is it, I’m done”, more like “this is it, I hope someone will find my body because I might have the big one”. You guys know I’m a pretty fit gal, but oh my goodness, I’ve never worked out so hard in my entire life. I saw stars, my legs were shaking uncontrollably, and I came very close to seeing my coffee and breakfast again. There is absolutely no comparison of real stairs to a step mill. It’s a completely different workout.

I DID IT!

About an hour of #Noequipmentcardio in the books. These workouts are game changers for my body. I know it sounds silly, but I feel like it’s already making a difference. And guess what? I weighed myself before I worked out, came back and weighed myself again. I sweat out 2 POUNDS. Insane right?

When I came back I collapsed…

After getting it together again, I showered, and Phoebe and I relaxed on the couch. I needed it bad.

“Mama you’re crazy doing that many steps!”

We had some puppy massage time. She is so spoiled.

And because I’m that CRAZY, I went back to the gym later for leg day. I couldn’t do any heavy machines or smith. I stuck to regular squats, some glute work, and calf work. I was there about an hour.

I cannot control this MANE since getting my hair highlighted!

So as you see, lots of success with no equipment cardio.

*this was from Monday, step intervals and shoulders*.

I plan on returning to the step stuff tomorrow. Today is a MUCH NEEDED rest day. I’m at work limping all around the hospital saying please not the steps… and I take the steps everywhere.

Have a great day and stay safe tonight if you are taking the kiddos out!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

XOXO With a Cherry On Top,

-Minnie

Ever since you’ve talked about no equipment, I’ve desperately wanted to go run some hills! I have this place I can go, it’s 2-2.5 miles up, inclined the whole way, and omg is it killer! I remember the last time I did it, I kept getting cotton mouth, and had to spit a million times, and at one point this lady coming down asked, are you okay?? I told yes, just killing myself to get up this hill, it’s normal haha.
Great workout girl!!! Seriously, I wouldn’t have wanted to do anything else after running those stairs. Have a great day šŸ™‚
