I’m a Big Girl Now

Good Morning. Happy Friday! And happy long weekend ahead!

Oh it feels so good. I’m really going to enjoy every single second of it because Tuesday is supposed to be pretty rough for me, but I’ll think about that on Tuesday.

When I last left you, I was crying on the calf machine… after this happened I had a solid gym session the next day and split my cardio into parts like old times. Then it hit me. This is what worked for me before, why am I messing that up?

After a lot of thinking, I realized I cannot continue to train the way I have been with coach. No we are not parting ways 100%, but it’s near impossible for me to do a heavy lift for 60-90 minutes, then he’s out the door and I’m stuck with a butt load (yes I said butt load) of cardio. My first prep I would break it into sections. 10 minutes here, then lift, 10-20 more minutes then a lift, etc. It worked well and prevented me from getting exhausted. After a long lift who the heck wants to be bored to death on the step mill for a long period of time? Not only that, but I fatigue easily, so I’m not giving my all for that session. Breaking the cardio up keeps my heart rate up and since it’s shorter periods I go a little harder.

Coach and I talked and decided it would be best for my prep if we trained together just a few days out of the week. Possibly Tuesdays/Thursdays during my work week. He also said I’m putting up the heavy weights by myself without any issue and I really do not need the spotter anymore. I’ve built the muscle, now it’s time to strip the fat (not saying I am fat! Just time to get stage lean).

Today we will be doing legs together, but yesterday I went solo for just a long cardio session. My body was achey and I needed a rest away from the weights. I also felt a sore throat coming on (not again, ugh!), so my body gives out very easily with a lift. I did the spin bike and the arc trainer because my knee could not handle the step mill.

For the past week or so I’ve gone super strict with my cardio, making sure I track my calories exactly, and I cut out my dairy for good. It’s only been a week and I see very drastic changes already. Waist feels tighter, beloved V is coming back, arms are shaping up, and hamstrings are starting to poke through.

I wore my blue Lululemon pants last night and noticed this round baby staring back at me.

Well look at that… I built a booty!

Talk about a transformation. From my last show I lost EVERYTHING,

and now… well..

I’ll take it 😉

I posted a new glute workout yesterday you can follow, but I plan on making a video this weekend of a short booty workout you can do at home. Hopefully I can get it edited and up this holiday weekend, I’ll keep you posted 🙂

In the meantime… my secret? Well besides eating properly, I’ve been literally busting my butt! Coach was making me do glutes SEPARATELY (not a part of leg day) at least 2-3 times a week. You don’t have to pile on the weight, body weight will do. You just have to work the muscles! I’m living proof it works.

And as if I don’t have enough going on in my life, I’ve decided to take on the task of writing my next e-book. This one will focus on all healthy desserts!  I’ve been brainstorming ideas and here’s a few teasers I’ve come up with:

  • Key Lime Shooter
  • Vanilla dream pudding
  • Healthier apple pie
  • Pink cake (shout out to G-Mama!)
  • Peanut butter crunch banana pops

Hmmm I haven’t even made any of these yet and they already sound tasty to me! Unfortunately this will be one of those taste test things and give it away. I have to be super strict now that I’m about 7 weeks out!

If there’s something you would like to see please comment below or send an Email.

I hope you all have a great day and a safe holiday 🙂

XOXO With a Cherry On Top,

-Minnie
