Mission: I Can’t Walk
Back to the grind… it’s Monday.
As you are reading this there is probably a surgery PA somewhere in Maryland ready to pull her hair out.
Hint Hint… in case you didn’t guess that would be me ๐
I was already warned on Friday that Monday would probably be the worst day I have ever worked. Nothing like hearing that to ruin a weekend! Basically my teams service has been JAM PACKED lately and guess what? I will be the only one all day to manage it… oh boy.
It’s hard trying to be positive about things recently when you hear that! But anyway, hoping for the best, expecting the worst, and praying I get out at a decent time for a gym session!
Yesterday morning I hit the gym first thing. The plan? MISSION: I Can’t Walk.ย Basically a massive leg day so the next day I am crazy sore! When I really want to power through an awesome workout I make sure to wear a cute outfit. I know I used to say all the time who cares if you look cute in the gym. Well I DO NOT wear makeup in the gym. It clogs my pores too bad, and I don’t wear the cute outfits for other people, I wear them for me. I feel confident in my workout clothes. Plus, they are the only clothes I normally wear, so I splurge when it comes to them ๐ The days of cute dresses and floaty tops are RARE.
My leg workout was harder than normal for me. I did lots of lunges and focused on the BIG guns like leg presses, extensions, power squats, calf raises, etc. I also did some glute bridges with a 35lb weight on my abs and crossed one ankle over the other knee. So difficult. Try this one out!
I really pushed through this workout. Lunges are my evil exercise. We all have one we hate, for me it’s definitely lunges.
I also hit some good cardio. Stepmill for 30 minutes and then some sprints on the arc trainer.
2 hours is pretty awesome for a leg day, considering I barely took any breaks. I was so motivated after seeing the show on Saturday! I would love to go to another one soon, especially so I could actually sit and WATCH. I was so busy taking pictures and focusing on blogging about it that I couldn’t focus on the walks of the girls. Plus I was so nervous for my bestie ๐

The next half of this blog is the remainder of my day at my parents house. Since Thursday is my birthday and I will be on a plane to Portland, the family decided to get together, put some chicken on the grill and enjoy some good company!
It was SUCH a beautiful day out.
I let Phoebe run around free while I was out there with her because she will never run away from me. She’s too attached. She just had a ball not being tied up! Bella had some “hillbilly fun” and started running through the sprinkler in her cute little swimsuit. This is where the troubles developed….
“Don’t worry Minnie, she won’t run through it”. This is what my parents said about Phoebe and the sprinkler. Can you guess where I am going with this?
There she is in the distance… no big deal… DON’T THINK ABOUT IT DOG!
This was the result:ย
She really did have a great time and we all laughed hysterically. Bella ran through it and Phoebe ran right after her. At one point she walked right up to where it sprays out and got a drink. I took video and it is absolutely adorable. Unfortunately I say a dirty word in it so I can’t post, whoops! I like to keep my blog PG, sorry guys ๐
Inside my family sang Happy Birthday to me and I blew out the candle. Since Bella just finished Kindergarten and is moving on to the 1st grade the cake was more for her than me. I’m old, I don’t care and I won’t eat the cake. I’m glad Bella loved it!
At home my girl was up to MORE trouble. She is such a pistol and a THIEF. I found this in her bag…
And then had to pry THIS out of her mouth. I have no idea what it is, where she got it from, or how long she’s been hiding it.
I swear sometimes she is worse than a toddler!
But I love her ๐
Overall a great Sunday! Just what I needed since work is going to be so stressful. See you guys tomorrow!
XOXO With a Cherry On Top,

Wow 2 hours leg session! You must be sore, keep up the hard work. If you don’t mind me asking could you tell me your workout that you did on the arc trainer (the hiit). I need to incorporate more hiit into my own workouts but never know where to start. Do you quickly change the resistance or your speed? Will this work for the elliptical too as my gym has not got an arc trainer. Thanks! Good Luck with it all. Tam
Katie
I was doing a little waddle today through the halls of the hospital, not gonna lie lol. Yes you can do HIIT on the elliptical! I do 45 second sprint, 1:15 regular pace. It burns MANY MORE calories than steady cardio. Typically I keep it on a high incline the whole time, and play with the resistance a little depending on how fast I want to go.

Holy Moly! How do you last 2 hours, I don’t even last 1 hour, more like 30 minutes is what I get before I become super hungry lol. Mmmm that BBQ food looks good! Omg, I’m still laughing about the video you posted on Instagram of her running…
Katie
You should have seen her running in the sprinkler. hilarious lol

I think the thinkg you don’t what what it was is the end of a squeaker from a squeaky toy…..maybe. I find them all the time after my dogs get a new toy. Your progress is looking great! Keep up the good work. ๐
Katie
hmmm maybe! It was REALLY hard though. She has so many toys, I will have to start investigating! Thanks!
its me
Lol. This was so cute. Bell looked at the pics and laughed. We are gonna feed her cake and puddin while you’re gone. The dog, not bell.
Katie
