New Look and Leg Smashing
Someone got a major haircut! NO! It’s not me. Are you crazy? Number one G-Mama would kill me, number 2 I LOVE my long hair, and number 3, I cut it to my shoulders in PA school with layers and cried for weeks. My sister can rock some short hair and looks stunning, it just doesn’t work on me!
Anyway guess who is sporting an absolutely adorable new look?
My Shelby Ann! Doesn’t she look precious? I just want to snuggle her when I look at this picture!
Yesterday morning I started off with some hard boiled eggs (skipped the yolks), and cottage cheese with reduced sugar jam (grape)
I headed to the mall because I had to pop in the apple store to see what they could do for my phone. The on/off top button stopped functioning and they pretty much said sorry about your luck, buy a new phone. BUMMER! This is the second time this happened to me with an apple product. I had one of those square touch nanos and the same button stopped working and they don’t replace it. Apple knows what they are doing. Of course they don’t want stuff to last so you have to buy a new product each year. 🙁
I also stopped in a new workout store called Elite. They had some nice watches for those who are looking for a workout watch or heart rate monitor!
After the mall I went to one of my favorite health food stores, MOM’S Organic Market. I picked up some goodies like hummus, soba noodles, veggies and more. I couldn’t resist the fresh coffee beans when I smelled them, so I snagged a little bag to try at home.
Then I spotted free samples. YES!
As I walked down the dairy aisle I couldn’t help but laugh hysterically when I saw these Greek Yogurts:
Wallaby Greek Yogurt and I have quite the history. I first discovered this yogurt at Whole Foods over a year ago, and it was THE ONLY PLACE I could find it. Whole Foods is really far away for me too. MOM’s carried the brand, but not the greek kind, so I went to customer service (yes I’m that annoying person) and asked them to special order it for me. I went on the website, found the UPC codes and everything. Well when the girl took my order she said it will come by the case, so after asking how much is in a case she said “oh at most it’ll be about 1,000-2,000 yogurts”. I pretty much laughed in her face because she was dead serious. I looked at her like she was insane. “What the heck am I going to do with 2,000 yogurts that expire in one month when it’s just me!?”. She took my information anyway, they called me 3 weeks later (was supposed to be a week) and I didn’t return the call. I was NOT paying for that many yogurts!
So looks like they finally got them, but I didn’t buy any. I stopped eating fruit yogurts because they are LOADED with sugars! Some of them have 18-26 grams per container! YIKES! I prefer putting my own fresh fruit in my plain greek yogurts instead.
When I came out of the store this little one was barking at me!
I normally hate people that leave dogs in their cars, it was a nice day out, and the car wasn’t there when I came in so hopefully he wasn’t alone long!
I picked up Phoebe at home and we headed to the bank then G-Mama’s. The drive through is the best and I let Phoebe pop her head out for a bit
When the bank teller saw her, he gave her a treat!
After hanging out, watching The Talk (my new favorite show), and having some pre gym snacks, I hit the gym for LEG SMASHING DAY.
I started with 30 minutes on the elliptical/stair machine combo then hit legs at full force. It was a SQUAT and LUNGE kind of day!
- Squats 30 lb bar, 15 reps x 3 sets (pulse for 2 sets for 8)
- Lunges 30 lb bar, 15 reps x 4 sets each leg
- Plie squats 40 lb bar, 15 reps x 4 sets
- Bosu squats with 10 lb kettles, 12 reps x 3 sets
- Deep squats 30 lb bar, pushing the bar up to overhead press on the way up and back down (these made my heart RACE), 10 reps x 4 sets
- Calf presses, 160 lbs, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Smith machine squats, 50 extra pounds, then 60,12 reps x 3 sets
- Plie Smith machine squats, 60 extra lbs, then 70, 10 reps x 3 sets
- DEEP smith machine squats, 20 extra lbs, 10 reps x 4 sets
- Dead lifts, 90 extra lbs, 8 reps x 4 sets
- Curtsy lunges with 12 lb kettle (I did bicep curls and upright rows with it as I lunged), 12 reps x 4 sets each leg
- Side squats, 40 lb bar, 10 reps x 4 sets
- Glute bridges with 25 lb plate on abs, 10 reps x 3 sets
LEGS ARE BURNING!!!!
I finished with a very mini arc trainer session to flush the legs out, then some ab work that included side bends, torso twists, bicycles, planks, and pilates roll ups. And stretched it out pretty good.
I had a dinner of my favorite strawberry salad, but this time I added goat cheese. I missed it so much during clean eating.
And some amazing chicken breast my dad smokes. Oh my gosh this is the best chicken breast I’ve ever had in my life. It get’s extremely tender and moist, little piece of heaven!
I also finished my night off with some Minnie’s Muffin Truffles. M for Muffin Truffle!
I’m skipping a recipe today because I haven’t had a non recipe day in a while. It takes a lot to update every day so I’m giving myself a break 🙂 I’ll have one up tomorrow.
Leg day killed me, I’m beat!
But I’ll be back tomorrow for more gym fun!
XOXO With a Cherry On Top,
