Good Morning Bloggies.
It’s Sunday… how in the world did that happen so soon?
Yesterday I got up early (well for a weekend), had a cup of coffee and headed out the door with Phoebe. I planned on getting my gym session in early so I had the rest of the day free. I barely made it an hour because I got extremely ill at the gym. In all my time on the stair master I’ve NEVER had to press the stop button, but I got really hot and nauseated and had to. I think it was because I didn’t eat. I had a string cheese at my moms to hold me over and I really needed to fuel my body properly. I managed to sneak in a little shoulder work, but again my body was hating me so it wasn’t as beastly as I had hoped for.
- Upright rows, 40 lb bar, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Face pulls (rope cable), 40-50 lbs, 10 reps x 3 sets
- Lateral raises, straight arms, 10 lb kettles, 12 reps x 4 sets
- Rotator cuff rotations (cable-single arms), 15 lbs, 10 reps x 4 sets each arm
- Diagonal shoulder crosses (pull cable from bottom across body to other side), 25-30 lbs, 10 reps x 3 sets each arm
- Smith shoulder presses, 65 lbs, 10 reps x 4 sets
That was it for the gym. I went back to my parents house, showered, then headed out on a BEAUTIFUL day with friends. We went to the Renaissance Festival. It is Maryland’s FINEST people watching. I am a big people watcher from way back. I am one of those silent types. I sit back, I watch, and I don’t say a word…. MOST of the time.
Alexis and I had a contest. Who could find the oddest/coolest costume. The winner we would take a picture with. It was fun! There is so much to see there. Unfortunately everything was so darn expensive. I’m not a cheap person AT ALL, but I’d really just rather spend my money on workout clothes over a fried cheesecake on a stick 😉
Speaking of crazy food, check out some of the stuff they had! I couldn’t believe it.
Pretty much you name it, they had it on a stick. Turkey legs are their biggest sellers. I skipped of course. In my bag I packed strawberry almonds and pepto. Ya know the killer pink combo, I’m a classy girl!
Oh and I did have to check out what “scotch eggs” were. They are a hard boiled egg that has a deep fried batter around it. Interesting… I will just take the egg whites please!
There were a lot of lines every place you walked, but we had a good time and lots of laughs!
Clockwise from the top: Steve, Josh, Alexis, Minnie!
I did buy Bella this beautiful flower wreath headband too!
Okay so I kind of acted like a princess and wore it around all day. It was fun, and pretty!
So that contest? Well I spotted this creature and totally won!
Yes that is a giant eagle.. I think? Anyway I am terrified of birds, and he had a huge pointy beak too. Could’ve poked someones eye out. I made Alexis flex, my muscle looks weak, I barely put effort into it, whoops. Even though he’s scary, this is my favorite picture from the day. Super fun!
We left and went on the hunt for food that every one could eat. Steve took us by Whole Foods. Score! Their salad bars are amazing.
This is an “everything vegetarian” salad. It’s spinach, hearts of palm, beets, cucumbers, mixed wheat berries, balsamic mushrooms, BBQ tempeh, and a few pieces of tofu. I didn’t use any dressing because some of the things were already marinated, it didn’t need anything else! Only downfall is that they are very expensive for a salad bar, but everything is super fresh. You get what you pay for! Good thing there is not a Whole Foods or Wegmans within walking distance from my apartment or else I’d be broke!
Oh and the icing on the cake for the day? I picked up a stalker in Whole Foods who asked me about my flower headband and then sang me songs… yeah everyone laughed at me, THANKS GUYS! 😉
Overall such a great day. It was good to get out and have fun with friends. Also good to come home to my little fluff ball.
My Monday is going t0 be a leg day so skipping the booty stuff for today and saving it for a session tomorrow! Have a great day and don’t forget to meal prep 🙂
