TT Is Back… Back Again
Good Morning Gang,
Thursday is here and we are officially less than one week away from Christmas. This is the point where people reach and think “I can’t wait for it to be over”. Well I guess some people. The holidays are fun and great, but boy are they stressful! Like I’ve said a bunch of times, I am not a fan of crowds and I get super anxious when places are packed and busy. I’m ready for that go to away a little bit.
I still have a few last minute things to pick up and then wrapping. Plus Phoebe and Shelby’s puppy gifts. I actually do not mind wrapping. I enjoy sitting on the floor, popping in a Friends DVD and being a little elf. Plus ribbons and bows? I’m all about it!
I didn’t blog yesterday because I was extremely wiped. Terrible Tuesday (TT) came back and slapped me in the face. It didn’t just slap me; it kicked me, stomped on me, then stole my money and ran.
Okay the money in my hand was for a much needed coffee because wow look at all those pagers I carried! I did manage to get coffee, because I cannot function without it. I knew since I’d be busy I needed morning fuel so I made it happen. Priorities people 😉
Yesterday was a slower day, but I don’t mind after having a crazy one. My job never has a nice in between. It’s either hating life, or easy breezy. I guess that’s medicine though?
Around lunch time the department of surgery had a Christmas lunch. There was a huge spread of everything I don’t eat… 😉 But ya know I look like the weird outsider girl, so I munched on veggies after eating my ground turkey.
And my Christmas dessert? Why a Quest bar of course!
Really loving this new flavor- Double Chocolate Chip. Cookie Dough still has my heart though.
I was more than ready for a good workout and needed to do some bicep work ASAP. They have deflated a little bit. No more big biceps and boulder shoulders, but I am working on it. It’s extremely hard to build muscle and I still do not understand why women think lifting makes them bulky! It took me a good year to form my bicep and it’s still small.
Just a normal gal- long day of work, eye circles, tired face, but making the gym happen!
I really got into my workout and incorporated upper back and biceps since they compliment each other. This is not my complete workout, but here are some highlights:
- 25 lb plate curls (kills biceps), 10 reps x 4 sets
- 40 lb narrow bar rows, 10 reps x 3 sets alternated with 40 lb curls, 6 reps x 3 sets
- Lat pulldowns alternating a 40 and 50 lb cable weight. I like a wide overhand grip alternated with a narrow under hand grip. Works two different muscles!
- TRX body weight lat pulls alternated with TRX pushups…
That last exercise? Yep, almost threw up. TRX ropes are TOUGH if you use them correctly. You can also make it extremely easy. I like to let my body go loose and force my own weight to do all the work. For example, when doing lat pulls, I balance back on my heels and make my back do all the work to pull my body forward instead of my legs. Changes the workout 100% . TRY IT!
Cardio included: 10 minutes spin bike, then 10 minutes step mill, then 10 minutes spin bike again. Lifting was done in between each round.
Look how I glow in the spin room 😉
Back looks pretty good!
And my girl is doing just dandy. Being adorable of course, and with a smile on her face as always 🙂
Come back tomorrow to learn some MORE things you don’t know about me!
XOXO With a Cherry On Top,
