Weekend Cleaning
Hi Friends!
Back to the week we go huh?
For me this weekend wasn’t anything too special. Tony and I spent time apart for the first time in a while. I had big dreams of organizing my life and I ended up just throwing out old makeup, which is a start right?
Can I ask you WHY am I holding onto makeup that’s 4 years old? First of all it’s gross, second I never wear it, and third no one wears mineral makeup eye shadow anymore.Yes I may have paid hundreds throughout the years for all that… okay probably approaching a thousand, but it’s just sitting there wasting space. In the trash it went.
I filled up a huge trash bag!
I still kept a good amount, including my precious Urban Decay Naked Palettes and this pretty makeup Pacifica sent me.
I even threw out some of my stage makeup. It’s a year or two old, it’s gotta go! I can buy new later.
So take it from me. Throw out that icky makeup and clean your makeup brushes too!
I looked up ways to clean my brushes on Pinterest and tried the cup of warm water, 1 Tbsp vinegar, 1 Tbsp dish soap. Well that didn’t get the “gunk” off. In the past I’ve done the dish soap mixed with olive oil trick. That does work FABULOUS but it left my brushes feeling a little oily and frankly I didn’t want to put that back on my face since I breakout rather quickly.
So I stood in my bathroom looking down at the brushes and my facial cleanser caught my eye. I wash my face with that, I break out when I use makeup, so why shouldn’t I wash my brushes with it? BRILLIANT!
I took a little cleanser in my hand and rubbed it through each brush. It worked like a charm.
So fresh and so clean!
Moving on….
Sunday I was all about the gym. If you follow bodybuilding at all you know that the first national show of the year (for amateurs) was on Saturday. Well I found a forum that did a play by play WITH pictures of the whole event. I was pretty much glued to my computer or phone at all times hitting refresh.
It really motivated me to get back to the grind. I was fascinated with the bikini girls this go around. You would think I would be all about figure, but in the NPC figure girls are HUGE. It’s just not the look I’m going for.
In my opinion bikini girls are now starting to look like figure and figure are starting to look physique-esque. I told Tony I’m not sure what the future holds for me in this sport. I like staying small and I like muscles, but also femininity. The only thing I am sure of is that Tony and I will do one show TOGETHER within the next year.
So anyway I did hamstrings and glutes at the gym. By the time I was finished cardio was out of the question. Thank goodness Tony was thinking the same. This morning my glutes are on FIRE and it’s because of this little set up:
Those are two step ups with five steps on each one. The kettle bells are 45 lbs and 55 lbs. I placed a foot on each one and did straight leg dead lifts and goblet squats getting more range of motion by going deeper into the movement. At one point I yelled out pretty loud because you REALLY feel it in your hamstrings and glutes. I did 15 reps, 4 sets each.
I’m off for the day. Have a great start to your week!
