What’s On Your Agenda?

Hey folks!

So I want to point out the obvious here that I haven’t been updating as much, which isn’t too much like me to miss some in a row. The truth is I picked up more work, so once I’m in for the night it’s sweet dreams for a few hours.

Anyway, this weekend should be a good one because Tony’s mom is having a big end of summer party at her house. Oh the food that will be present… I’m scared.

Every time we go there are pastas, crab cakes, crab dip (Marylanders), buffalo dip, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips galore. Then we get to the desserts and there is anything you could possibly want. Cookies, brownies, CAKE. Usually we always go for some kind of celebration and there is a big white sheet cake. My absolute favorite, my mom’s too! This time it’s not a celebration, so I’m hoping that bad boy will be nowhere in sight to save my temptation issues.

I plan on hitting the gym HARD these next two days for my lifts. They have been slacking a bit. I managed to squeeze in some cardio one night around 8pm. Doing it that late was definitely challenging, but I felt good about it when I finished. The only problem with it? I was completely wired afterwards. Does anyone have this problem? I had to be up at 5:30am and was wide eyed when I got home. Not cool…

The agenda for today is BACK attack. Tony and I haven’t decided if we are going to our regular gym or hitting the warehouse gym down the street from us. You’ll be seeing more pics from that place soon because we really like it! Everyone keeps to themselves and it’s a real lifters gym. We went a few weeks ago.

I normally do the same thing for back day, but I switch things up a tad here and there. Today I plan on trying some new things, but also incorporating in some of my favorites. Here’s the game plan and some ideas we can try out together 🙂

Alternating Renegade Rows.

As you see the weights are under the shoulders, putting the body in a plank position. CORE IS TIGHT. Row one arm back , then switch. These are SUPER tough, so get them out of the way first while you have all your strength and energy still!

Dumbbell Incline Bench Row

I like these because you are supporting the front of your body with the bench. You can either put your feet on the sides like above, or cross them and balance your knees on the bench.

Single arm seated cable rows.

An alternative to the regular seated arm row to focus on one side at a time.

Single arm lat pulldown

Again an alternative to focus on one side. I haven’t done this in a long time!

Other things I plan on throwing in:

  • Standing lat pulldowns (my favorite)
  • Lower back hyperextensions
  • Wide grip assisted pull-ups.
  • Light weight dead lifts just to get a stretch in the lower back.

I don’t do heavy dead lifts. My low back doesn’t tolerate it to much, but I always try them out with a lighter weight!

I hope you try these ideas with me 🙂

Have a great day!

Thanks for the ideas….I forget sometimes and feel like I constantly repeat. (and thanks for posting picks) I work out with my hubby a lot – but sometimes not – he’s lifted for years, so he knows a LOT….and of course mags – but I love ideas from other ppl as well 🙂 I was wondering how your job was going?? Still like it….?
